| Q |
What is the print quality like? |
| A |
Print quality is excellent. Why not buy one of our books and judge
for yourself! In some cases, the scanned book exceeds the quality
of the original, because we use high quality paper for printing. Our
Printers scan books for publishers such as the OUP, who trust the
quality as much as we do. |
| Q |
What about the Illustrator? |
| A |
Back To Front cannot enter into a contract for these books with
Illustrators, only with authors. Usually, our authors contact the
Illustrator and make a direct agreement, either for a single up-front
payment, or to share the royalties in an agreed split. |
| Q |
What happens about the original publisher's information in the book? |
| A |
We will create a new set of front pages to provide data about this
publication, including the new ISBN, a new copyright page, etc. If
you want to place any new material, such as a new dedication for example,
this can be done too. We can even intersperse new pages amongst the
original ones. |
| Q |
How do I pay for the initial setup costs? |
| A |
These can be paid either directly to Back To Front at the time of
the initial print, or be deducted from the profits on sales of the
book until the cost is paid off. We take no commission on the setup
costs, but simply pass on the price from the Printers. |
| Q |
How is this different from self-publishing? |
| A |
You can order as few books as you like - even a single copy. To
self-publish, you would usually have to start with an initial print
run of 500 to 1000 books. Each book is despatched direct to the customer,
or to you for your own use. There are no storage or distribution overheads. |
| Q |
How do my readers pay for their books? |
| A |
We offer links direct to Amazon for easy and secure Web purchases.
Alternatively all books can be ordered through high street book stores. |
| Q |
Who does the publicity? |
| A |
You do! We will ensure that all relevant data is passed to Whitakers,
Gardners and Bertrams, and that library providers are notified. This
means that books can be purchase by the Trade in the usual way. The
books will also be placed on our own website and will appear on Amazon,
Barnes and Noble and other online bookstores. But we do no additional
publicity or marketing. |
